Scrapbook 36-37

Hello Betsy,

What a fine addition you have been to The Concord Chorus. Not only do you sing well, but you also help to keep us on our toes, and are a positive, friendly presence in our midst.  Thank you for joining us.

I hope you have a wonderful 90th birthday, as best as can be under the current Covid-19 conditions. Enjoy it well and get ready for the next ten years.

I wish you joy.

Dear Betsy,

Ruth and I congratulate you heartily on your 90th birthday. Gee, you are almost as old as I am.

I remember fondly how we met in the early days of the Sudbury Nature Photographers. Your leadership made it into a vibrant, enthusiastic organization, as we went through the conversion from print-to-digital photography. I greatly enjoyed interacting with you. Ruth and I really considered ourselves your and Bill’s friends.

I also remember and appreciated your help and encouragement when we worked hard to prevent Art Wayland from sinking into oblivion.

As we grew older and travel became more difficult, we lost touch, but always remember fondly our times together.

Dear Betsy,

Double congratulations to you for your 90th birthday as well as the 25th anniversary of SVNP!

I am so glad you had the foresight to start SVNP.  The club has been really fun for me and the source of many helpful tips over the last 5 years.

You were also extremely helpful in working with Anita to help my campaign for Select Board.

Thanks again for everything and I hope we can do a proper celebration in the coming months.

My thoughts on our amazing mother:
We have been so lucky to have had the mother we had.  She provided an idyllic childhood for us, with Dad’s help. She was supportive and loving, while providing unwavering guidance to us on doing the right thing and being good people.
She was a trooper. I have a mental picture of Mom standing at the countertop that Dad had built with some pine planks strung between some trees at our Tanglewood tent site, boiling water on a pump-up gas stove so that she could wash the dishes. She performed these and other duties with gradually expanding support from us kids and gradually developing facilities over seven summers until our house was built there.
She was sweet and loving at the same time. I have have vivid memories that I will never forget of her playing guitar and singing us to sleep in our tent during those seven summers.
I love you Mom. Thank you for being my mother, my children’s grandmother and my grandchildren’s great grandmother. We are all lucky indeed!
Love,Paul
