Scrapbook 26-27

Dear Betsy,

Congratulations on your milestone birthday! It has been such a pleasure to sing with you in the Concord Chorus these past several years. When I returned to the chorus after a 20 year gap, I was thrilled at how wonderful the chorus still was and I was impressed, most of all, by the incredible musical talents of members like you. I welcome your insightful and helpful questions during rehearsals — you ask Kevin exactly what is on our [soprano] minds! Your musical talents and beautiful singing are truly impressive. We all look forward to the time when we can be back together singing. Until then, please stay healthy and please stay safe — and keep singing at home!

Warm regards,

Kathy Molony

Dearest Bets!  Congratulations on your 90th birthday!!!  If anyone I know will be looking forward to another ten to twenty years on this beautiful planet, it is you with your strong spirit, unquenchable enthusiasm, amazing energy levels and passionate engagement in sharing your many talents with your fellow humans.  Thank you for being the most wonderful friend and role model.  The artistic encouragement and support you’ve given me over the years is something I think few people in the music profession have been blessed with and it’s impossible to thank you enough for that.  Your beautiful spirit is an inspiration!
Oceans of love to you dearest Bets!!!  Nancy

Dear Betsy,

What a delight it is to look back over the many years I’ve enjoyed knowing you and respected your many accomplishments – not least the tutelage and encouragement you gave to daughter, Cindy.  And only now I’ve become aware that you are the same age as I!  Congratulations and many warm wishes on your birthday.

As for your music abilities, you were recommended by Cindy’s first piano teacher when she became ill.  And you really spearheaded her growth and love for the piano.  Later I learned about your photography.  I have two of your nature photos on the wall in my study.  Further, I understand that you continue to be engaged in many activities including conducting choral groups, book clubs, and playing concerts among other activities.  None of this is surprising.

In addition, I remember your warm and engaging smile.  I’m sorry that distance has precluded our getting together over recent years.

With love to you and your family,

Sylvia Green
