Dear Aunt Betsy,
I have so many memories of you as a vibrant and positive force in our larger family unit focused around Mimi and Doogie. Our summer times together were filled with music and fun and lots of people. One especially strong memory I have is of a visit I made with my family to your house as a young adult. I was still getting used to being an adult, a parent and a wife. I looked to others for models of the way I wanted to be. When we visited you, I saw a competent and productive woman, who could also be a loving and considerate wife and partner. While we were with you, you baked a cherry pie that you put a heart in the middle of for Uncle Bill’s birthday or your anniversary, I don’t remember which. I was touched by your love for your husband and how you both were a couple together. You were my ideal. Happy 90th Birthday, Aunt Betsy! You are a very special woman.
Love,
Janet
