Birthday Wishes, Betsy!
Happy 90th Birthday, Betsy, to perhaps the youngest-seeming septuagenarian we’ve ever known! Steve and I send our love and best wishes to you and Bill for health, happiness, music, photography and a continuation of all your creative and intellectual pursuits that you generously share with everyone around you!
You’ve given us so much over the years and we cherish our memories. To this day I’m often reminded of our incredible lunches in Wayland with chickpea soup, hot, home-baked bread and above all the thoughtful conversation of current events, Francis Tregian, the music school in Haiti, project STEP, the Paul Green Foundation, Bill’s fabulous BSO stories, and even 9/11 —because we were in the office together that morning and watched the events continue to unfold at lunch…. I also think of our wonderful trips to APAP and the ASOL conferences, and the day you gave me my own copy of Strunk and White. (I ended that sentence with an exclamation point and just removed it, because I can hear you saying to me that I use them too often?).
And, more recently, we thank you for the hours of practice and rehearsal time you gave for our trio recitals! Steve and I miss playing with you so and hope you’ll consider a reading session with us in the coming year!!
Finally, the time and attention you extended to Uncle Bill made his life a much better one. Thank you so much for seeing him through some very difficult days!
Looking forward to more memories, that hopefully we can start making soon. In the meantime, happy, happy birthday! ??
Lots of love,
Steph and Steve
